For freelancers in Italy

You sent the preventivo. You don't know if they opened it.

The quote went out as a PDF on Monday to a contact at a studio in Milan. It's now the following week. Your contact hasn't replied, and you have no way to tell whether it's unopened, whether it went to the titolare who actually decides, or whether it's been read four times while three suppliers are compared on price. A PDF stops reporting the moment you attach it.

ApeiroCraft sends the proposal as a link. You get a timestamp on every open, the client signs it in the browser under eIDAS, and the accepted proposal becomes an invoice record in euro — which your commercialista or fatturazione provider then pushes through SdI as the fattura elettronica.

What actually costs Italian freelancers work.

Silence you can't read

Decisions rarely sit with the person you emailed. The preventivo gets forwarded to a titolare or an amministrazione address you've never written to, and you're left guessing for two weeks — then chasing in August, when nobody answers at all.

30 days agreed, 90 days paid

The terms said 30 days. The payment arrives at 75, after two reminders you felt awkward sending. Without a signed document stating the terms and the interest on late payment, every chase is a favour you're asking for rather than an agreement you're citing.

The tools assume you're American

HoneyBook won't accept a business outside the US and Canada. Others price in dollars per seat, ignore euro invoicing entirely, or claim to handle your invoicing and then have no idea what SdI is. You end up paying for three subscriptions that each solve a third of the problem.

Proposal, signature, and invoice — built for how you actually bill.

Step 1

Know the second they open it

Every open is timestamped on the proposal itself, including reopens after it's forwarded internally. When it's read twice on a Wednesday morning, that's the morning to call — not the following Monday.

Step 2

Signed in the browser, under eIDAS

The client signs where they're reading, with verified name, email, and timestamp captured immutably. Under eIDAS an electronic signature can't be denied legal effect for being electronic, which covers the ordinary freelance contract without a firma digitale token.

Step 3

Euro pricing, euro invoices

Quote and invoice in euro, or in whatever currency the client pays in when the work is cross-border. No conversion at the point of quoting, and no US-only signup wall.

Step 4

Signature becomes the invoice record

Accepting the proposal creates the invoice with the same client and amount, so nothing is retyped. ApeiroCraft is not a fatturazione elettronica provider — the fiscal fattura still goes to SdI through your commercialista or your existing provider, from figures that are already agreed and signed.

The Italian freelance stack — measured honestly.

Nothing here is broken. It's just assembled from a word processor, an email client, and a fiscal tool that were never meant to talk to each other, with the one week that decides the project left entirely dark.

Sending the preventivo

Word + PDF + email + fatturazione

Write it in Word, export to PDF, attach to an email, hope the formatting survives.

With ApeiroCraft

Send a link. It opens on a phone, formatted, with the pricing options laid out.

Knowing if they read it

Word + PDF + email + fatturazione

You don't — and when it's forwarded to the person who signs, you have no visibility at all.

With ApeiroCraft

Timestamped opens on the proposal itself, including opens after it's been forwarded internally.

Getting it signed

Word + PDF + email + fatturazione

Printed, signed, scanned, emailed back — or agreed by email and never signed at all.

With ApeiroCraft

Electronic signature in the browser, with verified name, email, and timestamp recorded.

Payment terms

Word + PDF + email + fatturazione

Stated in the PDF, agreed by nobody, and awkward to cite when payment runs to day 75.

With ApeiroCraft

Terms sit in the document they signed, so a reminder points at an agreement instead of asking a favour.

Raising the fattura

Word + PDF + email + fatturazione

Retype the client and the amount into your fatturazione tool, then send it to SdI.

With ApeiroCraft

The accepted proposal carries the figures through. Your SdI provider still files it — with nothing rekeyed.

  • Available in Italy and across the EU — no US-only signup wall.

Common questions.

Can freelancers in Italy actually sign up?

Yes. ApeiroCraft is available worldwide, including Italy and the rest of the EU. There's no requirement for a US or Canadian business entity, which is what blocks Italian freelancers from HoneyBook.

Does ApeiroCraft handle fatturazione elettronica and SdI?

No, and it's worth being clear about that. ApeiroCraft produces the commercial invoice record from the signed proposal — same client, same amount, no rekeying. Filing the fiscal fattura elettronica through the Sistema di Interscambio stays with your commercialista or your existing fatturazione provider. What you gain is that the figures reaching them are already agreed and signed.

Is an electronic signature valid in Italy?

Under eIDAS (Regulation EU 910/2014), an electronic signature cannot be denied legal effect or admissibility solely because it's electronic. ApeiroCraft captures the signer's name, email, and a timestamp immutably, which suits ordinary freelance client agreements. Contracts that specifically require a firma digitale or firma elettronica qualificata — certain dealings with public administration, for instance — still need a qualified provider.

Can I quote and invoice in euro?

Yes. You set the currency on the proposal and the invoice inherits it, so there's no conversion step and no dollar figures shown to a client who pays in euro.

What about clients outside Italy?

Common for Italian freelancers, and it works the same way — the proposal is a link that opens anywhere, the signature is captured the same way, and you invoice in the currency you agreed. Read receipts matter more here, because a client in another timezone won't reply the same day even when they've read it.

How much does it cost?

There's a free plan with no expiry and no card required. Paid plans start at $19/month flat for the whole workspace, and every plan includes every feature — plans differ in capacity, not capability. Pricing is billed in USD.
