For roofers
You can't see the decking until the old roof is off. Price it before then.
A roof replacement is quoted from the ground, a ladder, or a set of photos — and the one thing that most often changes the price is the one thing nobody can see until tear-off. The homeowner compares your total with others that may or may not include new underlayment, flashing, ventilation and disposal, and the weather decides when you can actually start.
ApeiroCraft sends the quote as a link with the system you're installing, what tear-off includes, unit prices for hidden repairs, and weather and clean-up terms. You see when the homeowner opens it and reopens it, they sign in the browser, and the deposit is invoiced from the accepted proposal.
Where roofing jobs go wrong on paper.
Rotten decking, no agreed price
Tear-off reveals soft boards or sheathing. If there's no per-unit price in the quote, you either eat it, stop the job to negotiate, or present a surprise invoice to someone with an open roof.
Totals that don't compare
One quote includes new flashing and ventilation, another reuses the old. Homeowners compare the totals, and a thorough quote reads as the expensive one.
Insurance-claim confusion
When a claim is involved, the homeowner isn't sure what the insurer approved, what they're paying and what you're doing. The quote is the only shared document, so it has to be clear.
Inspection to install deposit, in one link.
The system, line by line
List tear-off, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, the roofing material and disposal as separate sections, so the homeowner can see what a lower quote may have left out.
See when they're comparing
The link records each open and re-open. Several opens in one evening usually means they're deciding between quotes — call while they are.
Signed before you order materials
The signature records name, email, IP address and a UTC timestamp and can't be changed afterwards — including the unit prices for hidden repairs.
Deposit, then the final invoice
Convert the accepted proposal to a draft invoice for the deposit, send with your payment link, and convert again for the balance with any per-unit repairs added.
What a roofing proposal has to include.
Roofers are often judged on the total. These sections are what make the total mean the same thing to both of you.
Tear-off or overlay
If it's left vague
The homeowner doesn't know whether old layers are being removed, or how many.
With ApeiroCraft
State whether you're tearing off, how many layers, and that disposal is included.
Hidden repairs at a unit price
If it's left vague
Decking or rafter repairs become a surprise negotiation with the roof open.
With ApeiroCraft
Give a price per board, sheet or linear measure for replacements, and say you'll photograph them.
Materials and system components
If it's left vague
Underlayment, flashing and ventilation are reused or downgraded without anyone knowing.
With ApeiroCraft
Name the roofing material, colour, underlayment, flashing and ventilation you'll install.
Weather, schedule and site protection
If it's left vague
Rain delays are blamed on you, and the garden is full of nails.
With ApeiroCraft
Explain how weather affects the start date, how the property is protected, and the clean-up you do.
Warranty
If it's left vague
The homeowner mixes up the manufacturer's material warranty and your workmanship warranty.
With ApeiroCraft
Separate the two, with the length of each and what voids them.
- Deposit and final invoices from one accepted proposal.
- Pipeline view for inspections, quotes out and jobs booked.
- Notes per property for photos, access and insurer contacts.
Common questions.
How do roofers usually price a replacement?
Most replacements are a fixed price based on the roof's area (often in roofing squares), pitch, layers to remove and the system installed, with unit prices for hidden repairs like decking. Repairs are usually a fixed price per job or time-and-materials. A deposit is common before materials are ordered. ApeiroCraft holds the structure; it doesn't measure roofs or set prices.
What does a replacement proposal look like here?
A summary of the inspection with notes on condition; a scope listing tear-off of one layer, new underlayment, flashing and ridge ventilation, the shingle line and colour; disposal and magnetic sweep included; a unit price for each sheet of decking replaced; weather terms; workmanship warranty; deposit to order materials, balance on completion. The homeowner opens it that night and twice the next day, signs, and you send the deposit invoice.
When is ApeiroCraft not the right fit for a roofer?
It doesn't measure roofs from aerial imagery, generate material orders, schedule crews or manage insurance supplements. Roofers who rely on those features need roofing-specific software. ApeiroCraft is for getting a clear proposal signed, the deposit invoiced, and the customer record kept.
Can I use it on insurance jobs?
You can send the homeowner a proposal that sets out your scope and price, and note what's subject to the insurer's approval. ApeiroCraft doesn't communicate with insurers or handle claims; it records what the homeowner agreed to.
How do I add the decking repairs to the final invoice?
When you convert the accepted proposal for the balance, add a line for the number of units replaced at the agreed unit price. Invoices are editable until you send them.
Price the hidden repairs before tear-off.
Write your unit prices and system details once, and reuse them on every quote.
