For sign makers & print shops

A typo found after fabrication is your cost — unless the proof was signed.

Signage jobs — shopfront fascias, illuminated letters, wayfinding, vehicle wraps, large-format print — move through a predictable sequence: enquiry, site survey, quote, design and proof, permission where it's needed, production, installation. The costly mistakes happen between the steps: a proof approved by text with a spelling error, a fascia measured from a photo, a landlord or planning consent nobody applied for, or a deposit never taken before materials were ordered.

ApeiroCraft sends the quote as a link with the specification, what the survey covers, the proof process, who handles permissions, installation access and the deposit before production. You see when it's opened and reopened, the customer signs in the browser, and the deposit is invoiced from the accepted quote.

Where sign jobs cost you money.

Proofs approved informally

A customer replies 'looks great' to a proof, and spots a wrong phone number on the installed sign. Without a clear proof sign-off, the remake is argued over.

Permissions forgotten

Illuminated or projecting signs may need landlord or local-authority consent. If it wasn't clear who applies, the installation date slips and the customer blames you.

Access on install day

No parking for the van, no power, scaffolding or a lift needed, an awkward wall surface. Installation surprises are the hardest to recover.

Survey to installation, on one record.

Step 1

Specification in writing

List size, materials, illumination, fixings, finishes and installation method, so the customer signs what will be built.

Step 2

See when they're comparing quotes

Opens and re-opens are recorded on the link. A quote reopened after another sign shop visits is a cue to explain your materials.

Step 3

Signed proof process

The signature records name, email, IP address and a UTC timestamp and can't be altered — the proof terms are on record before you print.

Step 4

Deposit before production

Convert the accepted quote into a deposit invoice in one click and send it with your payment link. Convert again for the balance after installation.

What a signage quote has to include.

Signage is made once and seen by everyone. These sections protect both sides.

The customer expected illuminated letters and got a flat panel.

Common questions.

How do sign makers usually price?

Most jobs are a fixed quote built from materials, production time, design and installation, sometimes with design charged separately if the customer doesn't proceed. Large-format print is often priced by area. A deposit before production is common, with the balance after installation. ApeiroCraft holds the structure; it doesn't suggest prices.

What does a shopfront sign quote look like?

A fascia sign of stated dimensions in aluminium composite with built-up acrylic letters and LED illumination; a site survey included with final sizes confirmed after it; one design and two proof rounds, with production only after written proof approval; landlord consent arranged by the customer; installation including access equipment and removal of the old sign; a deposit before production and the balance on installation. The shop owner reopens it twice, signs, and you invoice the deposit.

When is ApeiroCraft not the right fit for a sign shop?

It doesn't price materials automatically, manage production queues, schedule install crews or handle online print orders. Busy print shops with web-to-print orders need print-management software. ApeiroCraft fits quoted signage jobs where a signed specification and deposit matter.

Can the customer approve the proof in ApeiroCraft?

You can attach the final proof file to a short proposal and send it for signature — that gives you a signed record of approval. ApeiroCraft doesn't have a dedicated proofing tool with annotations.

Can I quote vehicle wraps?

Yes. Write the vehicle, coverage, film type, design rounds, the condition the vehicle must arrive in, and how long it'll be with you.

Sign the proof before you cut the letters.

Write your proof, permission and install terms once and reuse them on every job.
