What's in the template.

Every section below exists to answer a question your client is silently asking. Use the example copy as a starting point and replace the specifics.

1. 1

   The goal, in the client's words

   Open by proving you heard them. Restate the business problem, not the deliverable.

   “Your current site takes 11 seconds to load on mobile and doesn't reflect the studio you've become. The goal of this project is a site that loads instantly, converts visitors into consultation bookings, and is easy for your team to update without a developer.”

2. 2

   Scope — what's in, what's out

   Ambiguity here is where projects die. List pages, features, and revisions explicitly — and name what's excluded.

   “Included: 6 designed page templates (home, about, services, case study, blog index, contact), responsive build, CMS setup, two revision rounds per template. Not included: copywriting, logo redesign, ongoing maintenance (available separately).”

3. 3

   Process and timeline

   A week-by-week plan makes the price feel earned and sets review expectations early.

   “Week 1–2: discovery and wireframes. Week 3–4: visual design, first review. Week 5–6: build and CMS. Week 7: content load, QA, launch. Your reviews are the only thing that can move these dates — we'll flag it the moment anything shifts.”

4. 4

   Investment

   Present the price as line items tied to value, with a deposit structure. Options (good/better) raise average deal size.

   “Design & build as scoped: $6,800. Optional: blog article templates + search, $900. Terms: 40% to begin, 40% at design approval, 20% at launch.”

5. 5

   Why us, briefly

   Two or three relevant proof points — a similar project, a metric, a testimonial. Not your life story.

   “[Example — replace with your own] We rebuilt [past client]'s site last spring; [one real, measurable result, e.g. organic signups rose X% in the first quarter]. '[A short quote you have permission to use]' — [name, role].”

6. 6

   Next step + signature

   One obvious action. With e-signature on the proposal itself, 'thinking about it' becomes 'signed' in one sitting.

   “If this scope looks right, sign below and we'll schedule the kickoff call this week. Questions first? Reply to the email this link came from — we answer same-day.”
